Hi,
anyone tried other toners apart the suggested gold toners? I mean selenium, polysulfide, etc? If so, which results you got?
Warm regards

I use Selenium. Like it a lot. See my pesonal gallery. I have been getting much better color lately(now that I am actaully using sodium thiosulphate  )

I fix before I tone. I want to try toning before this weekend. I tone for 3 minutes in 30%ish Selenium.

What really works

Just came back from the LF Conference in Sringfield. A few months I tried POP because I saw an article inLenswork by a gentleman in Montreal. Spectacular spread he did on Morroccan Temples. So I order this paper and get what I consider to be the puke colors. Now if that's your bag go for it but not me so I stopped using it. At the conference Michael Mutmansky showed us POP toned in Platinum. Stunning....I don't know solutions times or dilutions-you'll have to fiugure it out but if you do it will suprise you.
Later, Peter

personally I like the colours I get with gold toning. Anyway, here is the platinum toner recipe: Water 400.0 ml
Potassium Chloroplatinite (20% sol.) 1.0 ml
Citric Acid 2.5 gm
Sodium Chloride 2.5 gm<
Water to make 500.0 ml
Quite expensive, anyway
