Hi to all.
I'm afraid I've done this backwards. ( Posted before intro )
My name is Detlef and I live just north west of Toronto. Just recently rekindled my photo interests after 15 year dormancy. Looking forward to catching up and dusting off my equipment.
Regards.
DS

Howdy good neighbor to the north!

Good morning;

Yes, welcome to the APUG Internet Forum.

You will find many people who still believe in and use film. The digital onslaught has not crushed film, as had been so broadly proclaimed. In fact, we have even seen new films introduced in the last year or two, and we have also seen some old favorite workhorses stop being produced. (Who would have ever predicted that Kodachrome would go away?) While we do have such new films as the high resolution Kodak Ektar 100, we do not yet know how they will compare in longevity with some of the older films that have a demonstrated long life span.

Again, welcome to APUG from all of us South of the 49th Parallel.

Welcome to APUG from a Canadian living in Japan.

There is a fair collection of Apug people active in the GTA. We have been organizing a few photo outings that have gone ahead in the last few weeks. We have had people coming in from Guelph and Milton. I think the next outing might be coming together in the Gulph/Elora area. Follow the Toronto section to see what is happening locally if you want to.

Otherwise, enjoy the collective interest of a world full of interested film photographers who are usually most willing to share their knowledge.

Detlef - hello and welcome to APUG from western Massachusetts.
