Just got a Yashica Mat 124G in the mail and it is in great shape. However, the strap lugs look like they should be compatible with Rolleiflex Alligator Ends. Is that so and do the metal ends chew up the painted Yashica finish?

I would like to find a nice strap with some sort of end that left the camera finish more or less intact.

Help is appreciated, thanks!

I dont use straps with metal fasteners, I use the type that just slip through the elongated eye then back through a sliding buckle.

O.K., thanks guys. The Yashica is not my first TLR and was bought during a curiosity attack. Now I'll get to the nitty-gritty of its abilities.

I have a 124G, which happened to come with an "ever-ready" case with its own strap. The case is held to the camera by two metal strips which slide down through the strap loops on the body. Looking at the body, I believe that it is intended to take a strap which slips through the loops and with a punched hole near the end of the strap to go over the post. I also have a Rollei with an alligator clip strap, and that is not compatible with the Yashica body.

Very interesting information; I had assumed otherwise.

I have a thin black fabric/cloth strap that goes through my Yashica Mat's loops and is held in place by little "belt buckles". I actually have this style of strap on my 35mm rangefinder and my 35mm SLR as well as my Yashica. I like it because it's very minimal and doesn't get in the way.
