Just a reminder, if you’re interested in this workshop, Yosemite will guarantee a housing slot (Yosemite Lodge) if you reserve a spot in the workshop before this coming Thursday at midnight (Feb. 26) Otherwise, you'll be on your own for housing.

Per the AA Gallery’s info the workshop will include:
- making prints using carbon tissue pre-made by the instructor [Vaughn Hutchins], but will quickly move to making your own custom carbon tissue which best matches your negatives and images.
- the opportunity to photograph in Yosemite Valley during instructor led field sessions and be able to process the film exposed that day specifically for carbon printing.
- for those without a large format camera who wish to experiment with using one, two 5x7 view cameras will be available for use during the field sessions. For those without large format or digital negatives, film will be supplied to work with.

Jim ... I agree with that ... this'll be my 3d workshop with Vaughn after a two-dayer in the SF Bay Area and his demonstration in the Redwood Country. So, I should have my PhD after this one.
One nice thing now is that Bostick & Sullivan has started producing the carbon tissues ... so for those who thought this process was a little too fussy for them, it has suddenly gotten a whole lot less fussy ... and the prints are unbelievable ... even if you don't do large format ... just digitize and print a large negative on a good printer ... it works great!)
So if you're still on the fence on this process, try one of the workshops ... either Vaughn's in Yosemite (4/15-18 ... deadline this Thursday for guaranteed housing at the Yosemite Lodge), Project Basho's in Philadelphia this coming week (2/27-3/1), or Sandy's in Jalapa, Mexico (this May) or in Michigan (6/25-26.)

Jim is right. If you are on the fence I would highly recommend Vaughn's workshop in Yosemite. Once you see a good carbon print you will want to give it a try. With digital negatives you can use just about any camera. You will learn to love the smell of acetone in the morning..... it means carbon printing!!!

Yes, give carbon a try. You will be taken with it. And Vaughn is a wonderful printer, and by all accounts a very good teacher.

BTW, in addition to my carbon workshops in Jalapa, Mexico, and in Michigan May 25-26 (http://www.northlightworkshops.com/contact.html) I am also scheduled to do one at the Photograhers Formulary July 12-17.
