Canyon De Chilly Arizona.. WOW!!!

Hey guys,

I did a little out and back trip with my family this past weekend before the kids go back to school next month. I've heard about this place... All can say is awesome!! If you guys travel out by this , you have to see it. I think it's more beautiful and dramatic that Grand Canyon. Anyway.. the below is just a taste. Canyon De Chilly

I've been there a couple of times and heartily agree that it is a beautiful place, one of my very favorites. My suggestions for someone planning to visit Canyon de Chelly is to spent at least two days either in the park or just outside (Chinle, Az). Do the rim roads at sunrise, hike down to the White House Ruins, and take one of the guided tours through the canyon.

Now take a trip to Mesa Verde, Arches, Natural Bridges and Canyonlands.

Was it really chilly? The Mex-Tex chow popular around Chinle is really chili rather than chilly. Probably where the name chinle came from.
That's what they originally served in the White House Ruin, back when it was a hotel and restaurant, before Donald Trump turned it into a
casino. But a beautiful canyon, for sure. I was always fascinated by those little pocket-sized handholds carved into the cliff not far from the
ruin. You see a lot of those in the various southwestern canyons. If mom told you to fetch water or corn down at the bottom of the canyon,
the first thing you had to learn was rockclimbing.
