As in I need glasses or something. Oh wait, I wear glasses. Recently acquired (from an APUG member and in excellent condition) an F100 and the purchase included a lens, auxiliary battery pack, the original manual plus the Magic Lantern tome AND a data back. I never had a data back and thought, why not use it. I misread the custom setting instructions thinking enabling it would print the configured date on the first blank frame only. Wrong! Unless you disable it after that first imprint, it does so on every frame. Live and learn.

You scared me there for a minute until I realize it was the data back that you had problem with. I imagine the data back is complicated enough for me to never have one.

does it print it INSIDE the 24x36 frame...

Yup, quite small and sharply printed in the beg. You would sacrificing a fair amount of an already small 35mm neg to crop it out. Easy enough to alter your routine to enable it before loading and then disabling it after frirst frame advance, but then I have managed without such data for forty years or so. New toy, had to try it.

I'll scan one and post it tomorrow if you are interested in seeing how far it intrudes.

Just to follow-up on the inquiry about its position within the 35mm frame...

Yup, definitely takes up some real estate on the neg! Thanks for posting this Bob, I always wondered about it...
