I am selling a Canon VL2 Leica thread mount rangefinder body in excellent condition. The VL2 apparently was originally intended as a more economical alternative to the Canon VL, although one would hardly believe it today based on the high build quality.
The camera is working well in all respects. The shutter speeds sound correct at all settings. The viewfinder is clear and clean. The rangefinder patch is bright and aligned horizontally and vertically. The mechanical motions are all smooth and accurate. The self-timer works. The metal shutter curtains look fully intact, although there are some marks on one of them that will not impact results. The cosmetic condition of the camera is excellent.
The VL2 is not a particularly common Canon rangefinder model making it an excellent collectible as well as being eminently usable. It features electronic strobe synchronization and internal finders for 50mm and 35mm. A novel feature is the accessory shoe which couples to external Canon finders to provide automatic parallax correction.
