There is a nice portrait of all Canon models here: http://www.dpreview.com/galleries/5057843657/photos/1451067/canon-ftb-1971.
I'm a Nikon guy myself, since my first camera was a Nikon EL2 with 3 lenses (35 - 50 - 105 mm), given to me by my aunt when I was 18. She was getting a new Canon at that time. Somehow I sticked to Nikon for its lens compatibility.
But last year I got me a nice Canon AE-1 with 28 and 50 mm lens. I just wanted to see what Canon was about and the set costed only $30. I was pleasantly surprised.
Recently I saw some praise about the Canon T70. I looked it up and liked its design (nice bulky like the 80's) so I got me one of those with a 50-1.8 lens also for $15 recently. I just finished my first roll this week. I still have to develop it yet, but I liked handeling this camera. So if there is a Canon T90 somewhere nearby for a decent prise, I might get one also.
I think I'll stick to FD mount. A nice F-1 or F-1N is also on my (very long) wish list.
