Canon P frame counter repair

Hi there,

The counter on my Canon P is stuck at "S", I'm not quite sure what is causing this. The camera is fine in every other way.

Any ideas?

Funny, I bumped into a P a few weeks ago that was stuck on '18'. I would image taking it apart and fiddling with some gears might fix it.

I ran across Dead Link Removed as well, which has some pictures of a P taken apart (for shutter curtain repair, but it seems somewhat easy to open.)

Hey there,

Thanks for that link, the inside looks a little scary, but I guess the counter is pretty simple, so I'll just not poke around in there too much

I also found the repair manual (http://www.pentax-manuals.com/manuals/service/canon_p_repair.pdf), Hope someone else will find this useful too.
