I'm looking for a lens hood but I'm not sure what to get. I want a cheap, even generic one, but how do I begin looking? I'm not sure so sure on where to start. This is for the Canon 1.4 and Canon P.

Canon 50mm/1.4 LTM has a 48mm filter size. The best way IMO to find a lens hood for it is to pick up a 48-52mm step up adapter for a few dollars and then use a generic, straight 52mm metal hood for a 50mm lens. You can get both for $10-15 from *Bay. Look for a seller by the name 'heavystar'. This has an added benefit that you can use normal 52mm filters with your lens.

Of course, you can try to find the original Canon hood but expect to pay ~$50-60.
