For Sale Canon FD 50/1.4

For sale today is a very nice Canon 50mm 1:1.4 lens in very good condition. The glass is clean and clear, with only a few specks of internal dust. Cosmetically, there is some paint loss on the outer rim, as seen in the photo, and some minor scuffing on the lens barrel. The aperture is oil free, the focus is smooth, and the f-stops click nicely.

There is one tiny tendril perhaps 1mm in length inside the rear element, I don't know for certain if this is fungus or merely a stray fiber. Also there is one spot of discoloration perhaps 1-2mm in diameter on the coating inside the rear element, but I don't believe that either of these defects will impact image quality.

This is some nice fast Canon glass with some minor defects.

If the buyer would like, I will include the Canon AE-1 body also pictured. The camera body is in good user condition, but seems to have an electrical problem. The meter is working, but the shutter will only fire very intermittently. I can put a fresh battery in, and it will fire 4 or 5 times, and then nothing. Remove the battery
replace it, and the same thing happens -- or not.

It's a great lens. The S.S.C. version is my number one lens. It's the only one that has been everywhere with me!

I will sacrifice this lens for $50 + free shipping. I would keep it if the body was good, but I don't really want another mount system, I'm trying to settle on one type of SLR.

Free shipping won't include the body, but the body is likely only ever going to be a parts body, considering how low current prices are on working AE-1 bodies.

If anyone has anything they would like to trade for this, like some 35mm film, or a Konica AR lens, or a halfway decent tripod, or even a decent point & shoot camera, I am all ears ...

If the AE-1 body that I have was working, I would not sell this lens. But I have recently committed to Konica AR and am trying to reduce my SLR stuff to one system, and selling the rest.
