I own the slightly older silver-ring breech mount version of this lens. These are very sharp lenses and a great value for the money.

I agree. I had one of these before selling it to move to the f/4L. I shot both of them wide open probably three quarters of the time, and thought that both were super sharp. It'd be a great lens even for 100 clams.
