Hi All,
I am looking for help with my EOS M3. Last month while hiking in the mountains I got caught in a sudden storm. I put my M3 in my backpack and pulled my poncho on over me and the pack. It was a four hour strenuous hike in steady rain back to my truck. When I got to the truck it turned out I sweated so badly that the pack was soaked. I got the camera home and removed the lens, battery, SD card, EVF and opened the doors and put every thing in a Tupperware container with two large silica packs. I left it in there for two days to dry it out.
I reassembled it and everything worked except the camera does not recognize the EVF-DC1. I purchased a EVF-DC2, but alas, the camera does not recognize it either. Physically, everything looks undamaged.
I was thinking perhaps a factory reset would set things right, but I don’t think there is a factory reset possible. There is a Restore Settings, but this is not reset, just base configurations.
Short of buying a new camera, does anyone have a suggestion on restoring the EVF to functional?
Thanks!
