Hey all. Picked up a nice Canon 1V. It came with the ES usb cable but no software. Can anybody help out?

I strongly suspect that even if you could get the original software it won't work on any modern operating system because of driver compatibility issues. I can't connect my Rebel XT to a laptop any more due to these issues.
I use Meta35. A good product, but it uses a separate dongle, not the Canon USB cable. See http://www.meta35.com/shop/m35-c-1.

I use it to tweak the hidden custom functions more than recording the exposure information.

I have looked into meta35. But seeing as how I already have a cable, don't really want to shell out another $150 for software that doesn't run on Catalina. At least that is what the developer told me on their facebook page. Has anybody actually tried meta35 on Catalina?

Can anybody help out? I contacted Canon CPS and they had no interest in trying to help. I have located the installer for the 1.3 update, but need a ISO or bin of original cd or help on hacking the registry to make the installer think a previous version is already installed.

I can upload a copy as well, I believe it's still available from archived versions of the canon site. You can run it on a Mac if you set up a virtual machine for the purpose. (VMware fusion)

I scoured archived versions of Canon sites, but could not locate the software or even an updater for it. I am going to try it in a virtual machine, but do have an old windows laptop to use if that doesn't work.

Have it all up and working in a VM on my Mac. Thanks all.

Sorry for the necrobump, but I'm just trying this out on my mac as well. I'm still waiting on the cable to show up from ebay. Sadly Meta35 is no more, so this is my option. Did you have to do anything to make the VM recognize the camera once you hooked it into a usb port, or did it do so without a hitch? Would love to hear experiences on how this works. I'm running it through OS 9 via sheepsaver.

That's a shame .
I often thought about getting one for my Minolta Dynax 7 but never got around to it .
Only the software would have been needed as I already have the Minolta Data Saver .
Oh well , to late now .
