A change of cleaning approach! Received it today and was concerned it was delamination or something, but it turns out the plastic eye piece needed a really good scrub!

Always helps!
So not a technical issue then .

I think it's some Nikon cameras who's LCD overlay on the focus screen is dimmer when the cameras off or the batteries are out/dead.

Always handy to know if a cameras got it's quirks , I've this camera too .
