Hello everyone,
First of all, I hope I’m not opening a topic that has already been discussed. I have a question about a Canon EOS 1000 FN. I used this camera many times and it worked fine but now when I try to turn it on (by switching onto full-auto mode for example) nothing comes up on the LCD screen and I can’t take any photographs. I tried with charged batteries and of course with a film inside. Any ideas on what the problem could be ?

Thanks in advance for taking time to read (and hopefully, you’ll be able to answer me too) !

Did you tried with rechargable of expandable battery ?
The first one have lover voltage and that can be problem.
Try with the second one.

I tried with an expandable, they’re not rechargeable. I use 2CR5 lithium Varta or Panasonic. Could it be that there’s a problem with something inside the camera ?

Thanks for your reply.
I tried with four different batteries (expiration dates 2023 for one and 2029 for the others) so I really don’t see what could be the issue.. ?

I’ll try with another again though.

Ensure the contacts are clean. Use a pencil eraser to clean both positive and negative contacts, or use a Q-tip dampened with rubbing alcohol. They can get a film on them which can't be seen, but inhibits current flow.
