Hello, i have this recently acquired Canon Demi EE17. It works perfectly, but the shutter acts "lazy", as in, it works only after pressing it 2 or 4 times, when it does, it shutters fine, all speeds seem to be accurate, all the rest of functions act as they should. Any clues what this might be? Cheers.

This is a Mercury battery camera. Mercury batteries have been discontinued in most of the world. A battery adapter for the camera needs to be acquired then use Silver Oxide batteries as alkaline batteries do not maintain correct voltage with age. Wein cells work but die quickly.
Try a fresh battery.

I have other Demis and they work fine without battery, it only feeds the lightmeter.

Does anyone work with these cameras for repair? I have a similar Canon Demi that could use a CLA.
