Hi all,

I've just got a Canon AE-1, described as working, but apparently it's not going to come so easily!

It has a problem whereby at any selected shutter speed (as far as I can tell) it will often just fire at what sounds like 1/1000. Being the fastest speed on the camera, I wonder if this is caused by a dodgy connection somewhere in the camera.

I've looked at the magnet and it's clean, as are the battery contacts. I'd love to get this camera going if anyone has any ideas. Thanks for your help
