Canon AE-1 Program shutter stuck open.

Pick up a cosmetically mint copy of the camera but the shutter is stuck open. Can't advance and can't fire.
I replaced the battery but that didn't do it.
Any ideas??

Clean the battery contacts with the eraser on a ball point. Can't hurt, might help.

A relative gave me a Canon AE-1 Program that had NEVER been taken out of the box. It was 25 years old and I aquired it 3 years ago. It needed an overhaul. It now works as good as new.
