Hi all,

I'm so happy.. just wanted to share with you folks my recent purchase of a canhaaaaamm dlc 45.

I've always lusted after a linhoff for its movements and such, and never actually had the chance to read about the canhams.

Well, after doing a bit of research, and chancing upon one on the evilbay, i made the jump and got me a used DLC for 1100 or so.

oh well... just thought i'd share my joy here.. Oh yes, any one have any pointers for this camera? (must have accessories, etc etc) I'm searching up on Apug for the threads, but would also appreciate comments/advise.

Thanks all!

Good exposures,
trev

I bought a used one over a year ago for about the same price. Very pleased with it vs. my Toyo field camera which was more solid but less bellows draw and lesser movements. The Canham takes a little getting used to. I splurged on a Maxwell focusing screen which is very good also.

I too use a Canham DLC and like it very much. The only pointers I have are to practice with it and to make sure that all the lock downs are tight and that the front and rear standards are plumb and square when you set up the camera. I use a torpedo level to plumb the standards and don't rely on the detents. This only takes a minute or so. It's really a nice camera with a great bellows-enjoy!
