I've attached the image from the LimeWire link after resizing it so it fits within the limits the forum allows.

I assume you want to change the background behind the smiling lady with the brick wall? (And is it OK that it's going to look horrible even if done well?)

Thank you very much. I tried to attach it but it said it the images were too large. Yes, I’m trying to get the smiling lady in front of the brick wall but I have no idea how to do it. It’s definitely alright if it looks horrible because it wouldn’t be any worse than what I’d be able to do .

No worries; yes, the original brick wall photo was a bit big. There's some info on dealing with that issue here: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/how-to-post-pictures-and-avoid-size-limit-problems.211668
However, it's fixed and anyone who wants to work with the original version can grab it from your LimeWire link.

I see @Willy T has actually given it a whirl - looks better than I had anticipated!

Here is my version...

Two minutes in Photoshop...

open portrait: select subject and then make a mask showing only the selection.

open brick wall: flipped the image so that the lighting 'fits' with the portrait a bit better , select all, copy and paste into the portrait, drag layer below the original layer and resize.

save the new merged image

Note that I made no changes to the files other that what is described above... contrast, exposure, etc. are unchanged.

It took me longer to write out than to do it.

The problem with this type of merger is that the lighting of the two parts does not match well. In order to do this type of work properly, one needs to plan ahead and carefully consider the lighting.

Anyway, here is my version...
