I need to clean a digital sensor today. There is not a local store open for me to pick some up.

I did a quick search and ROR fluid is not recommended for this purpose. Do any of you have suggestions?

Yeah, don't do it. As @Pieter12 suggests, if there's dust that the in-camera sensor shaker doesn't get rid of, see if you can blow it away. But don't touch it otherwise with something home made. While I wouldn't hesitate to use a kitchen sink concoction on a lens etc, a sensor is a different animal since any minute trace or morsel will shop up and create massive problems on every single frame. In the worst case, you have to use physical means to get rid of it later, involving the risk of permanently damaging the sensor.

Make do with how it is now and use appropriate materials once you can get them again.

Ok, thanks folks. This is for a video camera so I suppose I've learned my lesson about not keeping a sensor cleaning kit handy.

Back when dSLR sensor cleaning was a topic of discussion, Eclipse was the solution of choice for sensor cleaning, used with PEC-pads, both marketed by Photographic Solutions.
The published MSDS for Eclipse lists its ingredients as 90-99% methyl alcohol and 1-10% ethyl alcohol.
