I'm shooting Super 8 movies of our family holidays (like my Dad did in the 1970s) and projecting summer days into our winter nights. Ektachrome super 8 is so expensive I sometimes can't believe I'm doing this. I think Kodak will lift the price on this film so I've bought a couple of extra cartridges. Can I freeze them?

Thanks!

Yes, I used to have the freezer full of Kodachrome... How much do you plan to keep it? I forgot a for a couple years roll of super8 ektachrome (bought just before it was discontinued a couple years ago) in the fridge and it turned out perfect.

I always freeze my Super 8 Ektachrome as long as it’s still sealed in the original packaging. If it’s not sealed you risk getting condensation on it when you thaw it.

Yes, I always used to freeze super 8 ektachrome including the 21st century Ektachrome 100D. In fact I still have two cartridges frozen. Keep the film in it's sealed Kodak packet, let it come to room temperature before shooting it.

I shot an ektachrome 64T super 8 cartridge last year which must have spent a decade in my freezer. Came out perfect.
