We're not originally from here, after working for almost ten years in St. Pierre et Miquelon I took a teaching position at the college in Gander from 1997 until 2003. We lived on Medcalf, just spent a couple of hours yesterday visiting our former neighbours the Mallows. That part of town hasn't changed much but I see that there has been a lot of development. We're meeting our oldest son here in Lewisporte this morning and then spending a few days in Kings Point / Rattling Brook with him before heading back to Yellowknife.

The Brownie Target line was made in Canada. I inherited my Grand Dad's. I've respooled 120 onto the 620 spool. She still takes nice pics.

An aunt gave me a No. 2 Brownie, the latest patent date on the inside is 1916. Its been through a lot, although its worn cosmetically everything works. Its worth running a roll of film through it. A true KISS camera.

I think that it was a case of Canada winning the contest among the "Allied" parties as to who was going to get the Leica engineers and technical staff.

No, it was a choice by Leitz and as late 1952.
And there was no allied interest on Leitz people, also the intellegence report on the Leitz plant was meager.
