Came across this novelty product which I thought was a bit interesting. What caught my eye is that it appears to be made from a transparency with the images being quite viewable. From what I gather, these are digital images that one chooses and are printed onto the transparency.

How exactly is this printed? It's not instant film.

Oh, I read up on it at Etsy. You upload your pics to them in a digital file, and they print them on the little fake 35mm "film" strip. Seems hard to do for $9, but who knows? Cute.

I believe that is correct... but I'm wondering what "film" they are printing on as it appears to be quite transparent and the images appear to be quite visible/bright. But I could be wrong... maybe it's just a print with a backing that gives the impression that it is a transparency.
