If you could rank the all the major camera manufacturers in terms of quality and reliability with 1 being the highest, what would your list be?

I don't think you can make a statement for all cameras of a make. I have owned and I still own a couple of Pentax 35mm cameras and while some of then you could at a pinch use to hammer a nail in (kids, do not try this at home) they have also made some awful plastic wonders. I have also handled Canon and Olympus cameras in the past, and the same applies to those makes. So who is up there? I dunno. Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax - just to name some in alphabetical order - all made some really awesome cameras. And lenses.
