Kodak Instamatics had both, but I really don't count them as anything but nostalgic novelty cameras.

Most smart-phone snappers probably look at top of the range medium and large format cameras and think the same.šŸ˜‰

Makes sense. Any time I want to use my Sony A6000, the battery is dead. Saves the trouble of wondering.

They will put a crank that looks like the film advance level on film camera but it actually would crank a generator to generate sufficient power for 1 shot.

You should suggest that idea to Leica.

In the future, there won't be any need for cameras. A phone app will be able to generate any requested image by compositing from a database built by ubiquitous surveillance.

Aren't we already there? I thought I saw something on Petapixel recently that AI could generate an image from a text description. Granted, you can't believe everything anything you read on Petapixel, but still.

I go out with my camera and set the aperture and shutter without even thinking. I somehow always nail the exposure.

And the whole mechanical feeling makes me feel so good.
