Camera Bag for Mamiya 7II

Most of you know I just got a Mamiya 7II and now I need a bag for it. I will have the body and a 65mm lens plus I will have a 150 lens shortly. I plan to carry a light meter and ofcourse, some film. Any suggestions?

I use a sling bag (I'll try to take a Polaroid and post) with a main zippered pocket above a flap that covers the entire bag, including two zippered compartments and an open pocket. I put my three lenses in beer cozies with filters, shades and light meter in the main pocket. The body goes in the bigger of the two pockets under the flap and film and sundry in the smaller zippered pocket. The unzipperd pocket gets shelled film ready for loading.

In the bottom of the main pocket and the camera body pocket I secured with velcro foam padding from a lap top case. It may sound ad hoc, but it is very streamlined, comfortable, unobtrusive, and has greater padding than a reg. camera case. The sling bag takes advantage of the slimness of the body (mine is a Mamiya 6 about 3/4 to 1" slimmer than the 7) and is very comfortable (did I already mention that). This arrangement has been to Belarus, Romania, France, England, Wales and all over the USA.

I have three bags I use for my M7II camera, 65mm and 150mm and nikon flash.

One is an older Tamrac which is sort of a more verticle than horizontal bag, which I use for every day packing it around. The 65mm is attached. 150 is in a compartment as well as flash and filters.

I have a back pack Tamrac camera bag I use for vacations which I can fit the same setup into, plus a few other things like 35mm snapshot camera and maybe a couple of other things into.

I have a third one that I use when riding my bike, hiking to the liquor store etc which is something like a fanny pack which just holds the camera/65mm attached. I have a lens bag? that fastens on the the belt of the unit so I can carry the 150mm or not.

I'd just take your camera and lenses to a good camera store and try them all out to see which workd best with what you plan to do.

I hike quite a bit and I like to have a backpoack. the lowepro. I carry body, 50, 80, 150, 250, extra back and 6x17 w/ lens attached and light meter plus filter and cables and about 5 pro packs of film. I am usually out quite a long time. With MF the cameras are really light but the bigger packs allwo you to carry your gear plus clothes. If you hike I woudl highly recommend a backpack.

I use a Lowepro Offroad for my M7. With only the 65mm, you may leave the slip lock cases at home or use them for film.

I use a Billingham Presstop 305 to carry my Mamiya 7II, 65mm, 80mm and a lightmeter, with spare film in outer pockets. It all fits snugly.
