I was reading through the latest issue of Camera Arts and apparently its been sold to one of its editors. I'm curious to see how it will change in the future.

Cheers,

James
I don't think you have to wait judging by the content of the current issue.

Having read Aggie's link I'm still looking for some clarity. For those of you who know these people better than I do, can you guess whether this management change will move the magazine content more towards film or digital, more toward large format or stay with medium and smaller formats?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Probably te best way to find out is to ask the new ownership group. The web site is

www.cameraarts.com

and they can be e-mailed from the web page

They will stay with small and medim format while View Camera will concentrate on large format. I do not know if the film v digital balance will tip one way or the other.

If you don't mind discussing it, why did you decide to sell?

Per Steve's suggestion I sent my question to the new management. Here with permission is the reply.

John,
I appreciate your interest in CameraArts. Our focus and intent is on small
(35mm) and medium (2.25x2.25) format cameras/film. Due to a non-compete
clause in the contract between Steve and I, CameraArts can't feature
anything that has to do with large-format (larger that 6x7cm). We will do
a mixture of film and digital. What we really care about is the image, its
impact and message. If it's a great image, we'll take a look at it, no
matter how it was captured. you can view our Mission Statement on the web
(www.cameraarts.com). Also, take a few minutes to fill out the survey. You
may take anything from this message and use as a quote, if you like.

Regards,
Tim Anderson, publisher
CameraArts
