2 posts on this forum got me started but they were so far back I thought I should start a new one. This is the only repair that comes up in a Google search so it seems to be the only weak point. I emailed Cambo in Holland through their website and got a reply in about 10 hours with a diagram. The camera was discontinued some time ago but some parts are still available.
The lock bars, I bought 2, #20308022 were still available for $20 ea. plus $20 shipping (Holland to Georgia to here) Cambo set up the sale through a local dealer but the parts shipped direct.
The new lock bars are much thicker in the place that broke and I feel confident about the repair. I think I must have an early version of the camera. Replacement, remove the nuts on the bottom of the rise/fall rods and slide the camera front or back up. The rods are loose on a threaded shaft and will need to be oriented before tightening the nuts. I used a drop of blue Loctite on the threads.
Picture of the broken part. Picture of the old and new versions of the lock bar, new version below the old version.
