another question. Differences between Copal and Synchro Compur, differences between type 0, 1, 2, 3?

Anyway... what are the specifications of the lens board? i mean... dimensions/material... i don't want a plywood board... idon't olike wood... so... i could take an aluminium board and make it drilled and cutted to my tastes and use it? ( i think i need to paint it black, also... i'm wrong? )

Copal/Compur - just different makes - not important. Shutter numbers relate to the size of the shutter and hence the hole the shutter + lens fits into. See http://www.skgrimes.com/lensmount/shutmt/index.htm for the hole sizes required.

Most modern lenses are in Copal shutters, but Compur were generally more reliable but are discontinued.

It's easy to get Aluminium that's about the right thickness, and if you go to the Cambo website you can see that you need the one with the rounded corners. I realised I have one on my 2nd 10"x8" camera. Doesn't matter what colour you paint it, but the inner side is best Matt black.

If you can find someone who uses Aluminium they should be able to cut you 2 or 3 boards to the correct size. Sorry I can't measure mine as it's not here with me. Then get them drilled to fit whatever shutter you buy.

I'll PM you about a lens, as I might be able to lend you one while your looking for agood one.

thanks for the advices... i've just teared apart into pieces the whole camera to clean her. SHE is so clean now... i think i'll call her "REBECCA" it is a nice name... and, just to piont this out, yeah i give a name to all my cameras...(YEAH... YOU NOW CAN BE SCARED... =P)

jokes apart... well... i've noticed a little bit of imperfections (a screw missing and a little piece of metal to glue in the revolving back...) tomorrow i'll do the repairs... nothing to worry about... assembled the hood... but i have one question regarding it.

The hood is actually not able to stay attached to the camera body...

ok... i'll answer the very stupid question myself.... is for the cable release to be attached and for the regulations... stupid question as i said...

For Ian: thanks... since i'm a little bit disappointed... there are no bargains around here in Italy to buy an optic for lf cameras... everything is really costly... today i've looked for some film holders... 75Euros each. i think UK is more convenient... at least for this kind of cameras. Anyway i need a rounded board... i'll have them cut from aluminium in the forthcoming days... i guess i don't need it screwed since as i've understood the shutter has a system to fix the optic to the board... so i guess the board is nothing more than a... humm... a BOARD with a hole drilled on it.

Now i'm desperately seek for:
1 - OPTIC
2 - FILM HOLDERS
3 - THE ESSENTIAL POLAROID FILM HOLDER
4 - A SPOT METER (since mine was stolen and i've used a reflected light one since then) - 1 or 3 degree angle

Since polaroid called it quits you might hold off on the polaroid holder until you find a reliable source for some if ever.
Does your incident meter have a removeable dome? I think without most have about a 15 degree or so spot you can get by with until you find a good bargain for a good spotmeter.

If you are talking about a threaded hole on the 4 inch side of the spring back (the back side of the back), my SCII has the same hole... and that is how it came from the factory. I have no idea what that hole is for but there never was anything in it.
