I am selling a Calumet 4x5 monorail camera, case and lens. It is a great camera to start your journey into 4x5, since the camera has all the movements you are looking for in an affordable and sturdily platform.

It is no beauty queen, but is built like a tank. Someone before me replaced the bellows and they are soft and light tight and 11" when opened fully. The top two spirit levels and handle are all working properly. Rear rotating bail ground glass back is a nice feature, since you don't have to remove the back to reposition between horizontal and vertical shooting modes.

There is some paint flaking on the front standard. One of the knobs has a piece missing but still functions. The rear standard slips a bit when it is moved in and out, but locks down tightly as do all the controls on the camera.

With this camera you get front tilt, swing, shift rise and fall. Rear swing and tilt.

I am including a brass Kodak lens harvested from a roll film folder that fell apart. The lens is snappy and speeds seem ok. It covers the ground glass and has an approximate focal length of 140 mm. It is a Bausch and Lomb Rapid Rectilinear f4 lens. Board I think is a Copal 1.

Camera also comes with a sturdy monorail case that has a lot of room inside for your light meter, holders, dark cloth etc.

I used this camera for landscape photography (I know, maybe I am a little nutty) until I purchased my folding wood field camera.

Attached are photos of the camera, and a nice landscape image I took with the camera that won a first place award in a Mississippi River image contest a few years past. It was shot with an Optar 135 4.7 lens off of my Crown Graphic.

Price: $150.00 plus shipping. Camera is about 10 pounds and case is about 12 pounds. Would like to ship separately so the camera doesn't slide around in the case during transport. Shipping from zip 61873. Or you could pick it up.

If you have any questions, please ask. I have bought and sold on Apug in the past with 100% positive results.

I have Paypal.

Thanks,

Steve
