Feel the same way Diane and Frank....in fact wonder how many others would signup except for feeling that either there is not a large enough body of work or that our work is just not quite up to the lavel we feel is appropriate for the sales gallery?

I'm in the same boat but I went and signed up anyway. In my situation where I have a temporary darkroom where I have to set it up and then tear it down again since I use one of our bathrooms.

The gallery is really starting to look good and I congratulate all that have work submitted. While looking at the detail information on the prints noticed a couple of things that I feel would be important to a buyer .... 1 Print size should be listed, as well as mat size 2. the ability to select mat color is pretty cool, like the way it can change the look of a print. However, if only white/off white/bone mat is available that should be listed in the print details. Being a rookie at this, everyone that has signed up might have all of the mat colors available to them, just know I would not.

Just a couple of thoughts, and the are just that...you guys know what you are doing.

I have signed on, and submitted two prints today... like a lot of folks, I don't have a big selection. I'm not sure if this is the right thread to mention this, but one image I uploaded, does not appear in the still life category. I thought I added it to this area... did I do something wrong?

Hi Suzanne, it is there but the page count indicators are having problems so if you go to page three and then click "next" it takes you to page four, so i need to fix that. Thanks for helping me find that bug

I may be wrong but I was under the impression that when you sign on you are to wait for someone to get back to you.... I don't know why but that is my impression of the joining process.

I'm still waiting, I signed on yesterday.

That's what it said. After I registered I got an email from Sean telling me the account was open for loading.

Good morning to all. Just a quick question about contact prints for the sales gallery. Do contact prints have to be toned in any way? Do they have to be platinum or anything like that? Or can they be staright-up black and white prints on fiber-based paper? The reason I ask is that I just do regular black and white prints. I will use selenium toner for archival reasons though. Just curious. Thank you all for feedback....Matt

I have a darkroom set up in my garage. The sink is plumbed in with a mixing valve, and I have my enlargers (2) on a good, solid table, but nevertheless it's a garage.
With a new garage door that seals tight, light leaks and dirt aren't an issue. The Thomas sodium vapor safelight lights the whole place up, the mat cutter sits nicely on the opposite wall, and both cars stay in the driveway. But...it's still a garage.
I once had a darkroom set up in a walk in closet, with no plumbing.
I guess my point is that it's the darkroom worker that counts. I'd encourage anyone to submit prints they want to share with others, as long as you feel you've got something you think is worth sharing. And if you only have a few, so what?
The best thing to do is to get criticism from others, and the galleries here are a great resource for that. If you post an image that generates positive responses, why not try to sell it?
Just my thoughts. I hope someone agrees with me. Dean

Dean,

I couldn't agree more. What I like to do is set everything up when I know that I can get a coiple of days off work so that I can leave it up and then work as much as possible before tearing everything down again. This works very good for me and my better half.

**update**

Things are still progressing (not as fast as I would like but it's getting there). I have some final cosmetic glitches being repaired this week, and we are approaching 200 prints listed for sale which is a great start. I'm hoping this weekend we'll be go for launch
Thanks for your patience everyone! Sean
