Call for Artists
Waterworks Visual Arts Center is seeking submissions from artists who express their personal relationships to their faiths through art, including Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Christianity.
Deadline for Submission: August 30
Submissions should include:
a current resume
an artist's statement
5-10 digital images of current work available for exhibit; all mediums acceptable

About the exhibition:
This winter concludes Waterworks Visual Arts Center's series, Art of Faiths - Religions of the World: Diversity and Tolerance. Through a selection of photographs, paintings, and mixed media works, curated in house, artists express their personal relationships to their faiths including Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Christianity. The exhibition investigates the breadth and complexity of ideas visually portrayed by the selected artists as they communicate acceptance and social inclusiveness.
Exhibition dates: November 26, 2012 through February 9, 2013
Public Opening Reception: Friday, November 30, 2012, 6-8pm
Proposed programming will include a public forum led by a panel of artists, theologians, and laity who will discuss how art has always interacted and supported religion presently and throughout history.
