I would like to add the stop bath step into my C41 process as recommended by many on this forum. Is the Kodak indicator stop bath I use for monochrome ok for this or should I use a stop bath specifically made for colour?

Yes, unlike many other stop bath concentrates, Kodak Indicator Stop Bath is based on Acetic Acid and therefore highly suitable for colour processing.

Do NOT use the stop bath if it has been used for B&W film or paper. Use freshly mixed stop bath.

Any reason for this? I know of nothing that could be present in a stop bath which could significantly impact C-41 process steps after colour development.

It would be of harm more to B&W films run through it afterwards, but again there are dyes in the two types of films that might cause problems.

I try to err on the side of caution.

Besides, one poster here about 2 years ago had a problem by doing this and it turned out, after a lot of back and forth, that the use with a bunch of B&W films beforehand was the problem.

So....
