I have a problem with my C330S. At the end of each roll it will not wind freely after frame 12, but stops as if there are more exposures left. The back plate is in the 120 position. After developing, it seems like the film has not advanced much at these last "exposures", as there are some double exposure at the end of the roll. I can of course keep the release button in while I wind up the end of the reel as a quick fix, but I would rather have it work as it's supposed to. Does anyone have any suggestions to what may cause this?

probably lubricants turned from oil to butter in Nordic winter, try leaving camera overnight in cool airing cupboard and shooting a test roll of spring lillies quickly with camera still warm. Id remove lens before airing cupboard.

Any good camera repair person should be able to relub.

There may be on line instructions for yourself.

I don't know the cause of your problem, but a camera repairer would.

Is it possible that it's expecting a 24 exposure 220 roll?

Steve.
He wrote the pressure plate is in the 120 position Steve, so it can't be possible, the mechanism will only take 12 exposures in that position.

I missed that bit... but perhaps the bit which interacts with the counter isn't functioning any more.

Quite possibly Steve, but whatever's wrong with the camera isn't going to get fixed on the internet.

check

I'd check the back plate. It is possible the camera does not "know" you have it in the 120 position. Perhaps it needs to be switched back and forth a few times. "The recalcitrance of mechanical objects..." I have a wonderful Olympus camera with a built in zoom lens. When I take a photo with the lens zoomed out a little the viewfinder will show the proper angle of view but when I look at the photo it appears to be taken at the wide position. I have no idea how the camera can even do that.

Is there a lever that protrudes from the back of the body when the film's advanced?
If so, it may be sticking. Old lube/cold weather probably the culprits. Check the pressure plate, one side likely has a notch for a a lever to enter.
A small drop or two of rubbing alcohol or Naptha(US = ? Norway) down the slot should fix him up.
