C-22

Friend of mine came up with a roll of 126 cartridge film, (single perf 35) that may have some really cool family images from days gone by. The catch is it's Kodacolor-X C-22 so I can't develop it. Anybody know who does?

Dev it as B&W. Utter swine to print analog though... Can be okay with scanning (shhh). I just use Diafine on mine in the past and it worked okay.

I've done old 16mm c41 minolta submini in hc-110 dil B and it turned out OK, hard to print but sharp images nonetheless. Tried a roll of c-22 127 in diafine and got blanks. You are best off going for B & W prints from film so old in my opinion.

Film Rescue Internationa (just down the highway from me) will process C-22 as a monochrome film. You can find them on google.

There is a company here in the US that runs the C-22 process (if you want to pay the price). This has been discussed here several times before but the name of the company escapes me.

I doubt if the film would be any good though. If you wish, I could replicate the C-22 formulas for you and you can DIY from scratch as it were.

I found a place in CO. They are going to send a roll off to see if anything comes out. If it does, they'll send the rest. Apparently, money isn't a problem.

They do a run of C-22 about once a year. Send in your film and wait.

Develop it color with c41 chemistry. Use the correct temperature (78 degrees?) and time (17:30) with maybe some extra to compensate for the loss in speed. You'll probably have color shift and speed loss. You may want to push it a few stops even. Try a clip test of a few frames in the dark after the standard to see if you need more time.

Using C41 for C22 films is a common misconception.

Do not use C41. The C22 films required a ferricyanide bleach to properly form dyes, otherwise you will get leuco dyes instead of the final desired dyes. This is a common error.

Before the ferricyanide bleach, you need a clearing bath, and after it you need another clearing bath with hypo. It is rather complex. In addition, CD-4 is not right for C-22 dye formation and the absence of benzyl alcohol in the C41 developer can play havoc with dye formation and development.

I own some c-22 chemicals

Hello everyone, just wanted to let you know I own seven unopened packages of Agfa Process N developer 1L kits to process C-22 films. I would gladly exchange them with c-41 kits. My chemicals are powders in sealed packages, therefore will probably last forever, until mixed. Only problem is to find film for it.

So, no need of expensive labs.
