I'm vacationing in Ohio and I had an oopsie with my box of film. There is NOWHERE to buy film in southeastern ohio as far as I can tell, but I'm visiting Toledo in a couple days. Does anyone know anywhere between Columbus and Toledo that one can buy a box of 4x5 film and preferably a film holder? Do stores like Wolf carry sheet film?

Columbus Camera Group may be your ticket to a film holder. There's another camera shop in the area, too, but memory fails me at the moment. I'm sure the folks at CCG could steer you to a box of film....gotta be available in town!

Well...my knowledge of Ohio geography seems to be a bit weak. I had assumed one would go to Columbus on the way to Toledo but after looking at one of those new map things they have, it looks like the route from Zanesville to Toledo goes nowhere near Columbus. I emailed a camera store in Zanesville but I'll to wait till tuesday probably anyway.

Campus Camera in Kent will probably have a holder.... doubtful about 4x5 film. Worth calling ahead if you're in that area.

I doubt that Wolf will have sheet film. Detroit is close to Toledo, 1 hour north, and I'm sure there are store there that will have sheet film, although I don't have any names at hand.

Go to www.Mapquest.com
Request directions for Zanesville to Toledo.
It takes you right through Columbus.

Better yet enter Zanesville to 3313 N. High St.
Columbus, OH 43202 and go right to MPEX's door.
There is also parking in back.

Don't be put off by the look of the neighborhood.
Half the people here and on LF Forum shop there,
on their web site, by email or phone.

They can direct you back onto the route to Toledo.

Nope - No 4x5 to be had up here in Detroit any more. In fact, pretty soon I think Detroit will be off the maps entirely! :surprised:

Silly question, but... Is there any reason why one of the larger online retailers like Freestyle can not do a next day delivery to a hotel or post office ?

Private shipping companies (Fed EX, UPS, etc.) can't deliver to US Postal Service facilities. In the US many retailers have restrictions on shipping to places other than the billing address due to credit card fraud (I order using your number, but have it shipped to a pickup point to which I have access) and the lack of a known, liable recipient for the package at places like hotels.

That place in Columbus is apparently the only place in the state that has it, and I couldn't make it there during business hours. I asked them to bill me for it and leave it out where I could come pick it up, but they wouldn't. Owell. I have a 35mm camera still.

Well, perhaps in the part of the state you'll be in. I believe Dodd's in Cleveland has 4x5 sheet film in stock at their downtown store.
