When I'm next in the UK, which should be April, I'm planning a bulk purchase of these lamps for my 5108 De Vere.

Last time (2-3 years ago) I got the price down to between £3-£4 by buying a complete pack. I don't know yet what deal I can get but they would be under £9 inc VAT & carriage, less any additional discount for volume.

If anyone else is interested let me know by posting on this thread.

The pack size may depend on where I buy from, last time from memory it was a dozen. These came as a pack/brick from the US where they are made, and my UK supplier was prepared to give me a good discount on complete packs. (Otherwise they have small no's of a niche product on their shelves).

We can split packs if there's enough people. I'm looking to secure sufficient lamps to last me at least 5 or 6 years and hopefully longer.

I'll take a full pack of 12. I got my 5108 working over xmas and did think about where I would get replacement bulbs.

Thanks for solving the problem.

I'm sure these are the bulb in my 504 with Multigrade 500 head. I would be interested. Thanks.

If you have the standard 500W transtab, the lamps for the 504 heads are the 12V/250W ELC types. Does the Multigrade 500 use the transtab?

Evan, the full details are in the UK on another PC there & also on the last invoice & delivery note. When someone goes to my house there I'll ask them to look for you.

Great, I really appreciate that. The lamps in my head seem to be OK and the photography here in Wisconsin as pretty slow right now so I am not in a big hurry. (-15° F. this morning)..Evan Clarke

Tom, as soon as I'm back in the UK I'll post the details, that should be around a fortnights time. I don't have the suppliers details here in Turkey unfortunately they are on the previous order & another PC :D

Anyone wanting bulbs will have to buy (or share) complete packs of 12, as they are imported direct from the US and not held on the dealers shelf, which is why they will give me a far better rate.

Mark, hopefully I'll be able to post the price of each pack in about 10 days time when I'm back in the UK, the more people who are interested the better the deal I should be able to get from my supplier.

There's no commitment needed until I actually place the order, I'm making nothing out of this myself it's just that a bulk buy will get us all a much greater discount.

I just found some MUCH lower (UK) prices than the high street/photo mail order prices. still more than Ian's bulk prices but worth considering if you need some urgently or just a couple. Certainly bulk buying is the way to go and 3-4 quid sounds fantastic!
