It would be great to find a LEIMIN. I have a saved search on ebay for it now.

I suspect that the LEIMIN is the harder one to find, but I've seen them on EBAY several times. The one that is listed there right now is sold as a LEIMIN, but it is obviously a MINLEI.

The LEIMIN should be more expensive because it has the locking mechanism that the Minolta lens needs.

And keep in mind that there are other Minolta-to-Leica adapters out there that are basically the same as the NOVOFLEX, but made by someone else, and not marked as LEIMIN.

Once upon a time (like the 90s or early 00s) I wanted to use wide angle lenses on a screw mount RF body, and at the time it was not nearly as easy to find adapters for mount X to mount Y. While now you can find them on ebay, order from Fotodiox, etc.

At the time, the only inexpensive wide angle for LTM was the Russian 35/2.8. To go wider, what I eventually found was a T-mount for M39. Then I got a couple of old T-mount wide angle lenses (marketed by Soligor or Vivitar probably). These had non-automatic preset apertures, which is actually an advantage for using on an adapter. (For some auto-aperture adapted SLR lenses, the adapter needs to keep the lens stopped down; it depends on whether the SLR lens mechanism defaults to open or stopped down.)

The T-mount lenses were a bit of a hokey solution and today, I might just buy a Nikon F to M39 adapter. Other brands to M39 may be available but not as easy to find.

The other other option is to pony up for eg a Cosina Voigtlander wide angle in LTM.

I received the Vivitar 24mm today and is shown on a Yashica YE. Interestingly, it has the Tokina TX adapter mount. I hadn't heard of that until today. Just waiting on the viewfinder.

For comparison, there is hardly a weight or size advantage if I were to choose this setup over a Nikon FA with the same lens. The YE is 800 grams and the FA is 866 grams. The FA is a bit taller but nearly identical in width and depth.
