I first heard Beyond The Zone System few days ago and I visited its web site.
There was a examples from photographers page and I saw the most horrible pictures I have ever seen after some pinhole zone plate pictures.
Is there a problem with the system or examples were not selected good ?Pictures have very unnatural feeling.
I downloaded few pdf files on BTZS and the examples were terrible again.
They look like negatives printed on to color paper , I regularly order from minilab. They were harsh , too much highlight and no cream feel of highlights.
Greys looks terrible or too much ordinary.

It is a waste of time to attempt to evaluate an exposure/development system by downloading images from a web site and evaluating them on a your monitor.

If you look closely and do a bit of research some of the best photograph you'll see on this site were produced by fine photographers using BTZS.... and I agree with Sandy.

Mustafa: Something must be wrong with you computer. I went to the site. The photos are generally well done, and quite creative. Recognize that some of the prints are made using various alternate process techniques, and thus the colors and tones are not the usual black and white that you might be expecting.

I was recently in Istanbul, Ephesus, and Kalkan among other areas in Turkey. I enjoyed your beautiful country, and the wonderful Turkish people were very friendly and kind.

ok may be my monitor is not good but I love Ansel pictures at even with this monitor.
I believe something is wrong , pictures are harsh and like there is a huge aberration at the picture.
I am waiting a approval from a friend to borrow his book and after all I will write more.

I switched over to BTZS last year and think it is great. Haven't looked at the photos on the website, but mine have improved alot. Also, I have learned much about film and processing. the process invites curiosity more than rigidity even though the math can be daunting to some.
