Hi,
I have a small problem, and many you have much more development experience...
I developed some days ago a film (Delta 3200 in 120 format, expired a few years, but negatives seem ok-ish still), and just scanned them. One of the images has a large brown blob on. What could that be, is there a way to fix it?
Here the details:
HC-110, dilution B (worked still fine a few weeks ago on another film, but the bottle is maybe 3 years old)
Kodafix: mixed fresh 1:3. The bottle is expired a few years and has quite some yellow particles floating. And I shook them up before, which I probably shouldn't have. I guess the problem is here. Fixed 3-4min. For the last few films, I reused the mixed fixer from before (originating from the same bottle of Kodafix) and tested it on a film snip, and it always came clear within 2min. This time I didn't test it, since I mixed it fresh.
After washing, I removed the film from the tank and it had small yellow spots everywhere, probably from the fixer. I rinsed it multiple times and wiped it off. They seemed to have been removed, and this is the only point where I see a problem, but much larger then the yellow particles were.
Do you think this is one of the fixer particles smeared, or anything else, e.g. film touching in the spool (it was mid-roll and I don't think so), not enough fixing or anything?
Any suggestions what I could try to remove it? Fixing once more? Washing? Luckily this is only on this one and nothing important, but would be still nice to solve it and learn something on the way...
