I'm pretty sure in the past I've seen some manuals on ePrey for earlier Bronicas -- anybody seen any for SQ-A? Or maybe there's a website somewhere -- even the SQ might be close enough for my purposes. What I would like to find is some basic hints on how to get access to the internal workings.

The body described in my earlier "Bronicatastrophe" posting definitely is unhappy and I could imagine easily spending more than the cost of another used body trying to get it repaired. In fact, I just acquired another body, in original box with focus screen, caps and covers, a neck strap and a manual for $79.95 -- I doubt that will buy much technician time!

But I do have that compulsive tinkering mentality for things mechanical and electrical, so I'm game to exercise my jeweler's screwdrivers and tweezers some rainy afternoon.

Hi Dave,

I do not remember coming across one, but then I was not really looking for one either. Did you try emailing Tamron? Maybe they have a download-able version somewhere in their archives. Good luck with your tinkering!

Best wishes,
Sanjay

Dave,

If you found out an answer to your question, pass it on. I too have a possible need to tear into my SQ-Ai.

Thanks Mike

Alas, no, I'm afraid I haven't.

I hoped when I saw this thread resurrected that a source was at hand!

In addition to the second body, I later picked up another. I figure that way #2 should last for years, maybe outlast me. :D

Hmmm - scary lookin' stuff, but there might be enough similarities to give it a try. SQ-A bodies run less than $100, so it's not as risky as ripping one's automatic transmission apart.

Thanks for the lead, I know of that site but that manual wasn't there last time I looked.
