What happens when you turn the aperture ring on a Bronica RF lens that is off camera? Does the aperture open and close as you turn the ring? Or is the purpose of the aperture ring simply to signal to the camera (when the lens is mounted) where you want the camera to set the aperture when you press the shutter?

Thanks!
