Hi,
I'm new to medium format and I have a question. I couldn't find the answer in the manual. I use an AE prism. I have the feeling I didn't do the right procedure when using mirror lockup.

Do I have set AE lock before mirror lockup?

I think with the mirror locked up the way to the prism is blocked so the AE prism is unable to give you metering data. Is that right?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

From the Prism Finder G manual :
... for AE-operations with the mirror locked up, first set the AE-lock, then lock the mirror up and finally press the shutter release button ...

Many thanks! I should have checked the prism's manual too.
That explains some of my underexposed images.

The photosensors for your AE prism's meter are contained within the prism, none are in the GS-1 body. Mirror lockup prevents light from reaching the prism.
So you either have to 'hold' a light reading in the prism's memory while the mirror is down, or you must set the shutter speed and aperture manually so they are preset while the mirror is down.
