Bronica ETRS film backs

Q: about the two styles of backs for an ETRS. These come as single latch and double latch backs.
The actual film inserts and dark slides look identical but I wonder if they are interchangeable from a functional point of view.
i.e. will a film insert/dark slide from a single latch back work just as well in a twin latch back?

I have 3 three different 120 backs for my ETRSi - one single and two double latch backs.
The later backs (EI - type) have a locking dark slide and a little crank for film advance.
The dark side of the single latch back will fit the EI back but without the locking function.
The film inserts are interchangeable.
I use all of them without problems but I would go for the newer backs.

Single latch magazine E: Black end darkslide; film insert 1
Double latch magazine E: Black end darkslide; film insert 1
Double latch magazine Ei: Grey end darkslide; film insert 1

• You can swap inserts at random.
• Grey darkslide not not properly fit magazine E; interlock tabs prevent full insertion of slide.
• Black darkslide fits both E and Ei double latch magazines, but in magazine Ei you lose safety interlock features by doing so.

I have both backs and prefer to use the one with double catch. Ideally I would like to find a double catch shell, use my insert and put the single on the shelf.
