has anyone encounter an issue like this? I just bought a 45-90 lens for my ETRSi. I took it outside on a bright day, and was surprised how dark the focusing screen was. I know it’s a f4, not a f2.8 like my other lenses, but it was pretty dark. I looked the lens over, and it turned out the shutter wasn’t entirely open, and it had a star shape. So I removed the film back and put it in multi exposure mode to test the shutter. When I set the shutter speed to something long like 1 - 8 seconds, the shutter opened all the way, but then when I cranked to reset the mirror and shutter, it went back to being half open. So it seems like, as best as I can tell, the shutter opens fully during exposure, but only opens partially when cocked before filing.

Fortunately this was purchased through KEH, so I’m sure I’ll get my money back, but I’m wondering if anyone has encountered this before?

Yeah, I figured repair was in order, it just seems odd that it opens all the way when shooting, but not when cocked. Since it was bought in “excellent” condition from KEH, return is more likely than CLA.
