My EC-TL suddenly fires as if set to the B setting. The shutter stays open until I release the shutter button. I tried a new battery, no luck. I have read the circuit boards fail but the camera looks almost new and would it fail just sitting around?

I found out what causes this. If you take the left plate off you will see som brass contacts near the depth of field button. There are 3 contacts that when the shutter is cocked the white plastic lever the contacts together. I sprayed all those contacts with an electronic spray and it's now working. Hopefully tomorrow it will work also.

I just love these kind of fixes ( specially for a camera I have a slight hankering to own  ) . Peter
