It's worth you cracking open your Yashica A and taking a look at the mirror. If it isn't pitted to hell and flaking, then give it a go at cleaning.

FYI, you can get a good look at the mirror in a TLR by opening the focus hood and looking in from the front of the viewing lens. Often very easy to see the tarnish and flaking, especially on the edges.

Thanks for that ; mine needs pressure washing!

I am interested in the MP as well. I am just wondering how well it will work with the f/3.5 viewing lens.

It works just fine with the f/3.5 lens. I have the Oleson screens on my ‘cord, Automat and 3.5f.

Agreed. I have it on my Automat and some Rolleicords. It did wonders for an older Rolleicord 1 with the 4.5 Triotar lens - it makes focusing much more enjoyable now.

I have been looking for a bright screen for my Rollei SL66 for some time. I will probably order one after the holidays from Bill Maxwell (hopefully he's still in business). I have a couple of screens by him and Beattie (remember them?); Bill Maxwell's are superior by far.

I have long used Bill Maxwell focus screen on 4x5 monorail. I don't know that he still offers products. Last known contact information

Thank you. I sent an email and left a voicemail. Hopefully he answers in the affirmative.

For the SL66, keep a look out for the Rollei High-D screens (same Minolta licensed technology as mentioned) they pop up on ebay and such once in a while, i paid 50 euros for mine.

I found them to be significantly better then chinese fresnel screens and at that price cheaper than Maxwell/Oleson/MagicFlex.

Note that the Rollei 6000 versions of those screens fit the SL66.

Excellent heads-up.
