What old camera models and styles would you like to see rebuilt and made available today. I personally like some designs of the past century , with the extender platform and the bellows the same size at both ends, the folding is simple and functional and the construction seems to be not as "intense" as some of the more popular designs. I recently saw an old Century that had been restored and it was really beautiful and functional....

"Tailboard" type folding self-casing LF cameras - like the old German "Reisekameras", but in modern materials making it even lighter (the best originals are ultralight, very stable, and go from superwide to very long without changnig bellows).

To my mind it was the perfect evolution of the manual 35mm SLR. Small, light, with all the important controls (aperture, speed, focus) in the same place at the lens, plus mirror lockup.

I'd also like to see a company like Cosina-Voigtlander introduce a series of fast primes for the OM mount. I don't have any hands on experience with their RF lenses, but I hear good things about them. I bet they could do a good job with SLR lenses.

CV did make SLR lenses in OM mount, now discontinued and mostly sold out, but no particular emphasis on speed. See http://www.cameraquest.com/Voigt SL.htm

I'd also be glad to see new OM-1 models.

My first choice would be, as others have already suggested, a 6 x 7 folder with Makina-like quality; my second choice would be new Koni-Omega backs with the weaknesses addressed.

I realize that the 612 is wider than the Veriwide 100, but otherwise why not? I also note that with lens it is far out of range for people like me, but then so is a Veriwide in good order.

Have you looked into the ProPaq line of modified Graflex XLs as sold by SKGrimes? Again, not quite Veriwides but in the spirit. I've suggested to Adam that he should be able to beat Alpa handily on price but he hasn't taken the hint.

And, come to think of it, I see that Capaul & Weber are now offering a modified Linhof Super-Rollex back that gives 56 x 84. They want silly money for it, also for the camera bodies that accept it, but an Alpa 12 with slightly long nominal 6x9 back and a short lens is in the spirit too.

About the suggestion above that a Graflex SLR be revived, Ron Wisner tried. IIRC, his well-made wooden box got good reviews but sold very poorly.

A subtext of this thread is that the new alternative to clapped-out old cameras should be relatively inexpensive. But many of the clapped-out cameras nominated for modern replacements were pretty expensive when new.

Rolleiflex 3.5F Planar, Ensign Selfix w, Ross Express lens (if you,re old enough to remember) and without doubt the finest 35mm SLR system ever produced, the Olympus OM-1/2/3/4 - bet the OM-5 could have accepted digital backs and made toast and coffee!
